PTV Talks: PTV Vistro Session 7- Building Bigger Models using Merge & Update Tools
This session will cover:
How to merge models in PTV Vistro:
Easily combine small projects scattered across a city, to make one citywide model.
Convert competitor models into PTV Vistro, and stitch them together.
Create and insert PTV Vistro templates and examples of complex intersections into any Vistro model to streamline efforts.
How to update models in PTV Vistro:
It's now possible to update base models and scenario data, such as signal timing, geometry and lane configurations, and volumes using an import update tool.
This feature is great for updating peak period time-of-day information or updating base model data from a test scenario.
With this tool, you can also convert a competitor's numerous time-of-day model files into one managed PTV Vistro model utilizing scenario management.

PTV Talks: Retime: PTV Vissim – a demonstration of a novel way to optimize traffic signals in complex urban networks
Most of the traditional, commercially available, signal timing optimization tools rely on relatively simple, HCM-like, deterministic traffic models that are used to evaluate the quality of proposed signal timings.

Such tools are usually quick to deliver optimal solutions but heavily limited in terms of both:
1. Features that can be modeled (usually cannot model multimodal operations, dynamics of actuated signal operations, etc.) and 2. Performance measures that can be used as objective functions in the optimization process.
Finally, once such tools complete optimizations, a user is usually ‘left alone’ with a final signal timing plan without ability to comprehensively analyze how such a plan performs:
1. when compared with the other evaluated signal timing plans, and
2. from various multi-objective perspectives. In this webinar, we present and demonstrate a Software-as-a-service (SAAS) platform where Retime, an evolutionary signal optimization program, is coupled with the Vissim, a well-known traffic microsimulation tool that can realistically model a variety of field traffic and signal operations.

The platform utilizes the power of cloud-computing to run tens/hundreds of computationally-expensive simulations in parallel. The webinar will concurrently run a presentation and a live demonstration of Retime: Vissim optimization, which will be done on a small urban network. Results from the previous signal optimizations will be used to showcase comprehensive data analytics of evaluated signal timing plans.

In questo webinar la società di Architettura e Ingegneria One Works ci presenterà uno studio realizzato con il supporto di PTV Viswalk. Lo studio è stato volto a riorganizzare i flussi pedonali all’interno dell’aeroporto di Malpensa nel rispetto del distanziamento sociale previsto dalle linee guida ENAC. Verrà mostrato il ripensamento degli spazi all’interno del terminal e la riorganizzazione dei diversi sottosistemi (sia in partenza che in arrivo).
